Riding Through Jacksonville Weather

Summer heat, afternoon storms and hurricane season all change how a medical trip should be planned in Northeast Florida.
Heat is a medical issue
A few minutes waiting on a hot driveway is genuinely dangerous for older riders and people on certain medications. We stage pickups so riders wait inside, not outside, and vehicles are cooled before boarding.
Storm season planning
Afternoon thunderstorms are predictable enough to plan around — morning appointments are easier in July and August. During named storms we work with clinics on early or rescheduled treatment.
Wet-weather transfers
Wheelchair ramps and lifts get slick. Our drivers carry umbrellas, slow the transfer down and dry surfaces before moving a rider.
