Stretcher and Gurney Transportation

Hospitals, skilled nursing facilities and families call us when a patient is bed-bound, recovering from surgery, managing severe pressure wounds, or simply too weak to be moved into a seat. Our stretcher vehicles are equipped with a locking cot system, a smooth load ramp and enough clearance for attendants to work on both sides of the patient during loading and unloading.

Two trained team members handle every stretcher transport. They perform the transfer from bed to gurney using a slide board or draw sheet, secure the patient with body straps and side rails, monitor comfort and positioning throughout the trip, and complete the reverse transfer at the destination. Oxygen tanks, catheters, drains, wound vacs and personal belongings travel with the patient and are documented at pickup.

Typical stretcher trips include hospital-to-facility discharges, transfers between skilled nursing and rehabilitation centers, hospice moves to a family home, wound care and imaging appointments that require the patient to stay flat, and long-distance transfers to specialty hospitals elsewhere in Florida.

Because a stretcher trip is a scheduled medical move rather than an emergency response, it typically costs a fraction of an ambulance transport while keeping the same standard of patient handling.
